  • Oily Skin

    Here’s a simple recipe for a face mask that can help neutralize your oily skin.
    It’s called the Breakfast Mask.
    Simply combine an egg yolk, a tablespoon of honey, a tablespoon of olive oil, and a half-cup of oatmeal into a paste, then leave this on your face for 20 minutes.

    Face Mask for “Balancing” Oily skin:
    Mix 1 tablespoon powdered brewer’s yeast (found at Health Food Stores) with Witch Hazel or Rose Water to make a semi-stiff paste. Apply to clean face with fingertips and leave to dry. Remove with warm water. Follow with a cold-water splash. Pat dry.

    Cucumbers as a Face Cleanser: Cucumbers help to draw impurities from the skin. Place thin slices over your face (do it lying down or they’ll fall off!) and leave for 5 minutes. You’ll be surprised what emerges from your pores~ Alternatively, smooth sliced cucumber gently over your skin in small circular movements and then rinse with tepid water.

    Potatoes as a Face Cleanser: Potatoes can be used in the same way as cucumbers. Slice them thin and place the slices over your skin to remove impurities.

  • Blackheads
  • One of the more common symptoms of acne is blackheads. These occur when hair follicles get clogged, resulting in dark spots on your skin. This oatmeal recipe face mask mixes egg whites, essential oils, and parsley for a concoction that promises to eradicate those blackheads. This works best as part of your regular cleansing and moisturizing ritual.

    Simply boil half a cup of water and put in the dried parsley. Switch off the stove and let the herb steep in the water. Strain this mixture and combine with coarse oatmeal, egg white and your choice of essential oils.

    Uncooked plain oatmeal can also be combined with water and used as a washing agent to improve an oily complexion therefore preventing the appearance of blackheads. Add a bit of honey to the mixture to help the paste hold together and you will have created an astringent effect.

    Eliminate Blackheads with Baking Soda: Another face mask recipe calls for baking soda and promises to minimize those frequent blackhead occurrences. Combine baking soda with water and mix until the combination becomes pasty. Apply this to your face for 10 minutes. Do this regularly and your blackheads will soon be gone.

    Asparagus Blackhead and Blemish Remedy: Tie together 2 bunches of a dozen asparagus spears all with the spears at the top. Simmer the asparagus in preheated boiling water up to just under the tips for about ½ an hour. Keep the liquid in the refrigerator and apply with a cotton ball daily morning and night.

  • Uneven Skin Patch Remedy
  • If you’re worried about sun spots or uneven pigmentation, this honey-papaya face mask recipe promises to lighten your skin. Blend 2 tablespoons of honey and a half cup of mashed ripe papaya into a paste, then leave the mixture on your skin for up to 20 minutes.

    Lemon Wrinkle and Blotch Zapper: Lemon is a lightening agent for both the hair and skin. Squeeze the juice of 34 lemons into a few Tablespoons of hot water. Apply to your skin a few days a week to lighten blotches and smooth wrinkles over time. You can use orange juice as well if you choose.

    Horseradish Defreckler: Grate some fresh horseradish root into a cup of water. Leave for 10 days until it turns into“vinegar”. Strain and then dab onto freckles to lighten them gradually.

  • Dry Skin Recipe
  • Constant sun exposure will make your skin dry. Aside from minimizing sun exposure, this face mask recipe will be a lot of help.Avocado

    The star of this recipe is avocado—a fruit that’s rich in vitamins B and E and is a strong moisturizer. Simply peel and mash a piece of avocado and add 4 drops of almond oil to it. Leave on your face for 30 minutes.

    Cocoa Mask for Rough Dry Skin: Add to 2 cups of cocoa powder to enough olive oil and a few drops of milk or cream to make a smooth paste. Apply as a mask to your skin and leave for a half hour then wash off. The linoleic acid in the mix mimics the linoleic acid in baby’s skin.

    Basic Moisturizing Recipe:: This recipe is exactly as it’s labeled: it gives you a basic, no-frills cream. But it works — and it works well. Give it a try and you’ll see what I mean.

  • 1 cup almond oil
  • ½ cup beeswax
  • 3 vitamin E capsules
  • 3 drops lavender (or essential oil of your choosing)
  • Melt the beeswax and almond oil over low heat. Remove from heat, then whisk until it has cooled. Open the vitamin E capsules. Add their contents to the beeswax. Then add the essential oil.
    Pour this into a sterile, airtight jar. Store in a dark, cool location.

  • Dead Skin Cells Remedy
  • This exfoliating face mask recipe uses pineapple, which contains an enzyme that removes dead cells and purges the pores of impurities. Combine 4 large pineapple chunks with 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (This ingredient has vitamin E, which restores the skin’s youthful glow) in a blender until it comes out as a smooth paste. Leave on the face for 15 minutes.

    Facial Scrub Skin RemedyPapaya Banana Avocado Cleansing Mask: The papain in papaya fruit is used in many cosmetics nowadays. So why not make it fresh for a special indulgent treat for your skin! Just blend together a banana, papaya and avocado then brush onto your face after cleansing. Leave on for half and hour, wash off and then rub in sunflower or olive oil lightly to your skin!
    Note: The papain in papayas dissolves “dead tissue” so is excellent for clearing up wounds and sores as well.

    Almond Meal Cleansing Mask:: Put 1/2 cup almonds in blender and process at high speed until you have a fine meal. Put 1 tablespoon of this meal in a bowl and store the rest. Add 1/2 teaspoon honey to the tablespoon of almond meal and enough milk to form a thick paste. Smooth and pat gently on face to cleanse.

    As with any skin care routine, don’t expect overnight results. Make sure you incorporate the face mask recipes that you learned here into your ritual and apply them regularly to achieve best results. Constantly taking care of your skin — coupled with a good diet, exercise, and lots of rest — will help make you beautiful inside and out!
